...we were spared

But our friends to the north and east were not. There are millions of people in and around Houston who have no power today. Are going to be without for days or weeks. Hurricane Ike came ashore as a high Cat 2 storm, they had been forecasting a Cat 4. Thank God for the diminished strength.

It is barely day break there, but as the world awakens we will begin to discover the stories that will shape this storm. There will be countless people who have lost their homes, their loved ones, and some will have probably lost their lives. There will be a great opportunity for the people of God to show His love to those who are hurting.

Also keep in mind that Ike is now inland, but is still a major threat. The people to the north and east will be affected by the remnants for days. So those of us who are unable to go and physically provide support can continue to pray for those affected.
