...OF EVIL

Just kidding. I don't really think of Halloween as any more or less evil than any other day. I know that others do. Just like Christmas is supposed to be more holy than other days. I don't see it that way. We've clearly gotten away from the original purposes of most holidays. Are there any sacred holidays left? Seems like the only one we can't debase is MLK day.

It's not that I don't think that MLK was a great guy who didn't deserve his very own holiday. I do. I had the privilege of sitting in a speech class with a guy from Africa who'd never heard the "I have a Dream" speech. It was very moving. My point isn't that he shouldn't be honored, rather does anyone remember Veteran's Day?

Anyway, I don't care if you celebrate Halloween or not. Nothing can scare me worse than I already have been today as I watched my newly licensed teenager back out of our garage at 30 mph.
